Title of work: River as Infrastructure and Nature

IUAES2020 Šibenik, Croatia, Coming of Age on Earth: Legacies and Next Generation Anthropology

Date: 09/03 2021 – 14/03/2021

Focusing on the history of one river in Tbilisi, Georgia – river Vera, its entanglement in the infrastructural projects in the 20th and 21st centuries, Ketevan Gurchiani analyzed the relationship between technology/ infrastructure, nature, humans. This infrastructure, built for being modern, has never been modern (Latour). It has as much nature in it, as it has spirits, morality, and feelings.
